Building Entry

What time can kids come into the building?

  • The building will open at 7:30am for students to begin the entry process.

Where do kids go after they come into the building?

  • Students will enter, grab breakfast, if they want, and then report directly to their homeroom class.

How will students enter the building?

  • Students will access doors on the sides of the building if they are walkers, bike riders or being dropped off by their parents. Students riding the bus will also access the side doors. We will have staff outside to assist with this process as students come in.

Breakfast/Lunch

What is the lunch plan?

  • Students will eat lunch in their second period classrooms. Lunch will be delivered to the classrooms and is free for all students until December.

What is the breakfast plan?

  • Breakfast will be grab and go. There will be breakfast stations for students at either end of the main hallway (by the student office). Students will be able to grab breakfast and eat it in their homerooms.

Late Start Days

Do we still have Monday Teacher Collaboration Time (late start)?

  • Wednesdays have become our “late start” days during this altered schedule. Homeroom check in is at 9:30am to accommodate for the staff collaboration time in the morning. Please remember, we do not have in-person classes on Wednesdays.

Remote Learning

Do students login every day to homeroom?

  • Yes. They attend homeroom every day that they are in the building. When they are home, they will need to login into Zoom for homeroom even on Wednesdays.

PE

Do students have to wear masks during PE?

  • If students are outside and maintaining social distancing they will not need to wear a mask. Any inside activity will require a mask. Teachers are taking this into consideration as they plan their health and PE lessons for students.

General Information

Can students use MacBook covers?

  • Students need to keep the MacBook in the case from EVSD when the laptop is not in use. Snap on covers are permitted. Decals, stickers or items that could cause damage to the computer are not allowed.
  • It is vital that your students attend school on their scheduled in person days. Because of the limited face to face time that teachers have with students, and the block schedule, missing one of these days can create a significant gap in their learning.
  • School starts in person and virtually at 7:40am every morning besides Wednesdays. On Wednesdays school starts virtually at 9:30am. A copy of our bell schedule can be found on our website
  • For hybrid students during their remote (home) learning -
  • Students are required to login to their homeroom zoom at the start of each school day. Attendance for homeroom is completed by attending the morning zoom meeting.
  • Students are required to complete a “daily attendance task” for each period in order to be marked present during remote learning classes.
  • The “daily attendance task” is to be completed for the current day. It cannot be completed ahead of time. If the “daily attendance task” is completed prior to the current day it will not be counted and this could result in your student being marked as absent.
  • If your student rides the bus to and from school, and you have not spoken with transportation or sent in your transportation request form, please contact our office to complete the transportation request.

Attendance Information

Teachers have 24 hours to complete and/or fix attendance. If students do not complete the attendance form prior to 2:30 PM, they will be marked absent and parents will receive an automated call, in the evening, informing them of the absence. If you receive a phone call stating your student was marked absent during a remote learning day and you believe this was a mistake, because your student did log in and complete their attendance form, please call our attendance office at 509-241-5363.

If your student was correctly marked absent because they did not complete the attendance forms prior to 2:30 PM, but did complete the forms later in the day, you do not need to call the attendance office as we will monitor this and change or update student attendance accordingly.

If your student is marked absent, please call our attendance line at 509-241-5363 to address their absence. If there is no answer on that line, please just leave a message with your name, your student’s name, and the date/reason for the absence.

If your student is running late to school they will need to check in at the front door prior to going to class. We will take their temperature and send them to the student office to complete check-in. In order to further social distancing, please stay in your vehicle and call the attendance line to excuse the tardy.
